We’re excited to release the 2024 agendas for SECC’s Research Committee and Education & Outreach Committee. These quarterly calendars highlight the key topics that will be explored during committee meetings and published for members and the industry at large throughout the year.
This year, the Research Committee will begin with the “2024 State of the Consumer” report before moving on to the "Understanding the SMB Landscape: New Needs and Concerns" report, our first major study on the small-medium business segment in over five years. Later in the year, the committee will conduct the "Payment Strategies in the Post-COVID Landscape" and "Modern Energy Messaging: Engaging Stakeholders and Consumers" studies. We will also continue the Smart Energy Snapshot Series, starting with topics related to AI and the smart home.
The Education & Outreach Committee also has an ambitious slate of projects for 2024, beginning with the "Reaching Out to Renters" project that will continue the Questions to Ask campaign. After completing a white paper based on the themes from the "2024 State of the Consumer" report in Q2, the committee will then end the year with two resources related to electrification for the Questions to Ask campaign: "Educating on Electrification" and "Driving the Electric Vehicle Conversation".
If you're a member and are interested in joining upcoming committee meetings to help us develop these resources, please contact SECC’s Deputy Director Jason McGrade to be added to committee invites. If your organization is not yet a member, contact SECC's President & CEO Nathan Shannon to learn how you can get involved in these 2024 initiatives.
