Headquartered in Gahanna, Ohio, AEP Ohio provides electricity to 1.5 million customers across Ohio. AEP Ohio is a unit of American Electric Power, one of the largest utility companies in the United States with nearly 5.5 million customers in 11 states.
To help small business customers benefit from the deployment of Advanced Metering Infrastructure, AEP Ohio partnered with Uplight, formerly FirstFuel, to implement the Non-Residential Customer Engagement Solution (NR-CES) in the fall of 2019. This suite of online tools and reports provides small business customers with access to their usage data, savings recommendations and other helpful tools as part of the AEPOhio.com experience.
The tools and reports in the NR-CES have proven to be popular with AEP Ohio’s small business customers. The various new charts and graphs have been viewed over 1.1 million times by non-residential customers and Customer Account Managers, who have access to a tool that allows them to interact and assist customers.
