Over the last decade, the smart grid has helped create a new landscape for consumer engagement in energy. SECC’s Smart Grid 2.0 fact sheets are designed to help consumers understand some of these changes and the benefits that they could potentially gain by participating in smart grid-enabled programs and services.
This fact sheet covers the emergence of energy data and how consumers can utilize this data to save money and meet other energy goals. It describes the types of energy data available to consumers today, cybersecurity concerns that consumers might have and energy-driven programs and services that consumers can participate in.
