BMR Suspension has released a new front and rear control arm bearing kit (PN CBK555) designed to significantly enhance the handling and performance of 1997-2004 C5 and 2005-2013 C6 Chevrolet Corvettes.
The new kit replaces the factory rubber control arm bushings with high-performance spherical bearings, eliminating deflection and improving responsiveness.
Drivers and mechanics know that factory rubber bushings in C5 and C6 Corvettes deflect under load. This is for both during normal driving and, more noticeably, during aggressive maneuvering. This deflection can lead to wheel hop, a loss of precision, and reduced driver confidence.
BMR’s new front and rear control arm bearing kit directly addresses this common issue. The kit utilizes precision-machined 6061 billet aluminum bearing cups and heavy-duty spherical bearings.
The upgrade provides a much more solid connection between the control arms and the chassis. As a result, drivers can experience reduced wheel hop, increased stability, and more consistent cornering performance.
BMR Suspension stated that the new front and rear control arm bearing kit is designed for “max effort street performance, drag racing, and handling applications.”
The company claims the kit will dramatically increase suspension control and greatly improve steering feel, allowing drivers to push their Corvettes harder with greater confidence and control, whether on the street or the track.
The complete CBK555 kit includes both front (PN CBK556) and rear (PN CBK557) control arm bearings, replacing the bushings in both the upper and lower control arms.
For customers who only need to replace the front or rear bearings, BMR also offers these kits separately. The bearing cups are black anodized for a durable and aesthetically pleasing finish. Take note that BMR gave an estimate of approximately 5-6 hours for the installation process.
It’s important to also note that the CBK555 kit is not compatible with the 2006-2013 Corvette Z06 and 2009-2013 ZR1 models due to differences in the rear control arm design. So, BMR Suspension offers a separate kit (PN CBK565) specifically engineered for those high-performance variants.
BMR Suspension proudly designs and manufactures all of its products, including the CBK555, in the USA.
